PROJECTS: RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS: Impressionist Garden

This residential streetscape design is based on broad-brush plantings that ground the architecture to the site. Plant masses are arranged to accentuate the various blooms and textures while reducing maintenance and water needs. Typical informal plantings are arranged in formal manners creating hedges and linear bands of color. Flowing bands of grasses and colorful perennials are reminiscent of a french impressionist painting. This garden was designed to have a year round visual appeal. Plants were chosen for their texture, long bloom time and xeric qualities.
