This project is an excellent example of adaptive re-use of a brick warehouse which was repurposed as an office building located in the Lower Downtown District of Denver. The offices and conference rooms were centered around a courtyard opened to the sky, revealing the building's structure and allowing air flow and natural light. R Design complimented the incredible architecture with a minimal design for the courtyard featuring 3 large Honeylocusts which were craned into the space. Custom planters, a roofdeck and drainage details honored the industrial heritage of the building with crisp details and raw materiality. The permeable stone courtyard allows snow and rain to fall directly into the heart of the building, irrigating the vegetation and giving a dynamic, seasonal experience to the interior spaces.
