Inspired by the rural setting of this country home and property. The goal of the new design was to create a series of outdoor spaces that flow from the inside of the house out into the landscape. A new circular entry drive and subtle stone paver walkway guides visitors to the front porch. Trees and low shrubs, native grasses and perennials frame the house and ground it to the site. Glass doors along the back of the house flow out of the kitchen and living spaces into an elevated patio space. The spaces are set up for dining, lounging and grilling. A pergola provides a shady reprieve for outdoor dining which frames the custom designed stone fireplace. The fireplace becomes the end focal point of the space much like a living room. A meadow inspired garden space wraps the terrace providing texture and color. Stone steps gently guide visitors down to the play lawn and pond in the distant.
